The Stockton Fish and Wildlife Office provides coordination and leadership to the Calfed Ecological Restoration Program (ERP) Non-native Invasive Species Program (NISP). This program actively works to accomplish three primary goals. The first of these is preventing new introductions and establishment of NIS into the ecosystems of the San Francisco Bay-Delta, the Sacramento/ San Joaquin Rivers and their watersheds. The second goal is limiting the spread or, when possible and appropriate, eliminating populations of NIS through management. The third goal is reducing the harmful ecological, economic, social and public health impacts resulting from infestations of NIS through appropriate management.
