 Beach Seine
Weekly beach seining surveys are used to estimate the relative inter- and intra-annual abundance and distribution of all races of salmonid fry, using the Delta as a rearing and nursery area.

Beach seining has been conducted since 1976 on the Sacramento River and in the Northern and Central Delta. There was also a circuit done in the San Francisco/San Pablo Bay areas in the 1980's. The Southern Delta and San Joaquin River regions were not added until 1993 and 1994, respectively.

	Net - 15m by 1.3m beach seine

	Crew - two biologists/technicians

Sampling effort - 49 regular sampling sites broken into
5 biological regions (Lower Sacramento River, North Delta,
Central Delta, South Delta, and San Joaquin River) each
